At 5 oil refineries and 3 chemical plants, 4k workers went on strike, demanding better health&amp;safety conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strike was supported by a broad coalition of environmental, health &amp; community groups. Workers+supporters set up picket lines to ensure the plants remained shut. After 5 months, Shell was forced to settle with the workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1973, workers, farmers, and environmentalists showed that it is indeed possible to make Shell fall!
